  • SOCIAL MEDIA WARNING

    The George County School District has been informed of social media posts that mention possible threats to George County School District Schools.  We are actively investigating all possible scenarios through our own police force and with the cooperation of local law enforcement.  Additional precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of all students and staff on all campuses.  We will have additional uniformed officers on all campuses.

    Unfortunately, social media posts which cannot be verified are causing miscommunication and heightened anxiety among students and parents.  We appreciate your cooperation in NOT posting comments or sharing information that cannot be confirmed.  If you have information about possible threats, or information pertinent to the safely of our schools, please contact George County School District Office at 601-947-6993, the Lucedale Police Department or the George County Sheriff’s Office.


    We will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law any individual found to be posting threats to our school district.  Responsible parties will be held accountable for any statements posted on social media that are found to be fabricated and that result in negative effects on school safety or culture.  We ask that you please help us in combating social media issues which negatively affect our school culture.


    As always, the protection, safety and security of all students and staff is our top priority.

  • Kindergarten Registration Information


    WHO SHOULD REGISTER:  CHILDREN WHO WILL BE 5 YEARS OLD ON OR BEFORE SEPTEMBER 1, 2018
    DATE & TIME:  FRIDAY, MARCH 16, 9:00 - 11:00 AM
    LOCATION:  ALL GEORGE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

    Items required for completing registration:
    Child's certified birth certificate, Child's social security card, Immunization Compliance Form, Two current proofs of residency

  • 4 YR Pre-K Placement Request

    March 16, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM. 


    Any child who is 4 years old on or before September 1, 2018 and lives in the George County School District attendance area may apply for preschool.  The preschool program will be housed at the campuses of Central Elementary School, Rocky Creek Elementary School, L C Hatcher Elementary School and Agricola Elementary School.

    Those interested in placement in the Four Year Old Preschool Program may complete a placement request form in person at Central Elementary, Rocky Creek Elementary School,L C Hatcher Elementary or Agricola Elementary School on March 16, 2018 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM.  Space is limited.

    Proofs of residency and birth certificate must be presented at the time of completion of the placement request form on March 16.
