GCSD 2017 Comprehensive Needs Assessment
  • 2017 Comprehensive Needs Assessment

George County School District has launched its 2017 Comprehensive Needs Assessment survey. This survey is designed to seek opinions and ideas from parents and community members, as well as from faculty, staff, and students. The questions assess the status of the district in areas like family and community outreach, curriculum and instruction, and school facilities and organization. The survey is brief and will only take a few minutes to complete. It will be available until February 22, 2017. The results of the survey will be compiled into a report that also analyzes test score trends and other school success measures. The district will then use this report for strategic planning, for administering federal programs that require an annual comprehensive needs assessment, and for examining current school and district practices.

Please click on the SURVEY button above or scan the QR Code below with any device to enter the survey.

2017-2018 Kindergarten Registration
  • 2017-2018 Kindergarten Pre-Registration Announced

Pre-registration for children who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2017 has been scheduled for the George County School District.  Pre-registration will be held at each school on Friday, March 10, 2017, between the hours of 9:00 am and 11:00 am.  Parents and legal guardians should plan to bring their child with them to registration.

To register a child for school, the parents/legal guardians are asked to bring the child’s certified birth certificate, social security card, and health department immunization compliance form to registration.

Also required are two (2) current documents verifying the child’s address.  The documents must include the parent/legal guardian’s name and address (P.O. Boxes cannot be accepted).  Verification documents can include a filed homestead exemption form, mortgage document or property deed, home insurance policy, apartment or house lease,  driver’s license, automobile registration, or current utility bill (electric, gas, water, landline phone - cell phone bills cannot be accepted).

If a child resides with anyone other than the natural parents or legal guardians, please be prepared to provide documentation for the cause.

Parents or legal guardians who are unable to attend Kindergarten Registration on March 10, 2017, will need to make arrangements to register their child at the school by April 21, 2017, so that schools can complete student schedules for the 2017-2018 school year.
